VERY IMPORTANT PARKING NOTICE
We have limited parking available onsite and we politely ask that if the car park is full please use a safe area on Ipsley Lane and respect and consider our neighbours, many thanks. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND a reservation for our restaurant to guarantee a table and avoid disappointment. For all reservations, please include all babies and children when stating the number of people in your party. High chairs are available for children (subject to availability). Please make a note on your booking, call or email us to request a high chair. For children under the age of 6 months, please bring a baby car seat or similar as unfortunately there is limited space for prams or pushchairs in the restaurant. Your table will be held for 15 minute from your booking time. After this time, your table will be released to other diners.
BOOKINGS & CANCELLATIONS
Please email us on email@example.com or call 01527 523000 if you wish to make a booking, increase or decrease numbers or cancel your table. To secure your bookings on a Friday or Saturday after 5pm or groups over 5 at any time, we do ask for credit card details. This is a preauthorisation as a precautionary measure to safeguard against no-shows and late cancellations. Your card will not be charged for deposit purposes and no money will be taken from your card unless you cancel, amend numbers or do not show after 10am on the day of your booking where a £10 per person fee will be charged for groups over 5 or bookings of any size after 5pm on a Friday or Saturday. Bookings are not confirmed until card details are received.
Bookings for our Afternoon Tea can be made on our website. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements at the time of booking or as soon as possible. To ensure we have understood any requests clearly, your host will also reconfirm your dietary requirements on arrival in Afternoon Tea at The Orangery. Our menus are seasonal and include a selection of sandwiches, rolls, scones, savouries & cakes served with a pot of tea or a cafetiere of coffee.
No charge will be made to the credit or debit card details given at the time of booking unless cancellation, reduced number of guests or a No-Show is made within 48 hours prior to 12pm on The day of arrival, where full payment will be taken.
If you are using an Afternoon Tea gift voucher as payment, please ensure you bring your original valid voucher and present it to your host/hostess on arrival to The Orangery as this is your form of payment. If you have lost your original voucher, it has been stolen, it has expired or you do not bring it with you, it cannot be replaced or reprinted. In the case the original voucher cannot be presented your bill must be settled using an alternative method of payment prior to leaving.
Cancellations and amendments for Afternoon Tea can be made up to 48 hours prior to 12pm on the day of your reservation without charge. If you fail to arrive for Afternoon Tea, cancel, amend or reduce the number of guests within 48 hours from 12pm on the day of your reservation, the card details given at the time of the booking will be charged at the price of the Afternoon Tea booked for each member of the party. Please ensure you have the correct venue. Please note we are not based at or associated with Kensington Palace in London and full payment will be charged if you arrive at the wrong venue.
If you wish to add additional guests to the booking, this must be done no later than 48hrs prior to the day of arrival. After this time, we are unable to guarantee we can accommodate your additional guests.

As a small venue we have very limited parking available onsite and always advise that guests travel together or arrive via taxi or on foot. We politely ask that if the small car park is full please use a safe area on Ipsley Lane or Icknield Street and respect and consider our neighbours by parking courteously. Restaurant guests can park in the carpark on site during the day however overnight parking is not available as this is only reserved for hotel guests and the car park closes at 11.30pm. Unfortunately you are unable to leave cars in our car park overnight.
TABLE & ROOM SIZES
As a small restaurant, we are able to seat tables with a maximum of 8 guests in our Orangery Restaurant. Our private dining room (The Fig Room) can accommodate up to 14 guests and The Lavender Barn can accommodate up to 24 guests dining or 40 guests informally, we also offer exclusive hire for up to 150 guests for the whole house. Minimum spends are required for The Fig Room & Lavender Barn hire, find out more about group bookings below.
ARE THERE ANY CHILDREN IN THE PARTY 12 AND UNDER?
Children of all ages are very welcome to dine until 8pm in the restaurant – we recommend a 6pm latest sitting to avoid rushing. A children’s menu will be available throughout the day for under 12’s, 12’s and over are welcome to dine from the main menu. Due to licensing we politely ask that all children, 12 and under, vacate the restaurant and bar before 8pm. Under 13’s are allowed to be onsite after 8pm when in our private dinning Fig Room or Lavender Barn or for private parties.
DAMSON COCKTAIL LOUNGE
Our intimate Damson Lounge seats up to 30 guests however Friday & Saturday evenings from 6pm seats are prioritised for our restaurant guests for pre and post dinner drinks, so please be aware that seating will be limited. You are welcome to drop in for coffees, drinks and bar snacks without a reservation anytime. PLEASE NOTE; we operate a challenge 21 policy in our bar and restaurant and we reserve the right to ask for photographic I.D.
TERRACE & GARDENS RESERVATIONS
The heated terrace and gardens are available to enjoy all year round (weather permitting). We do not reserve tables and encourage guests to drop in for alfresco dining and imbibing and enjoy the delightful terrace and grounds at their leisure.
PRIVATE DINING & GROUP BOOKINGS FOR 8 GUESTS AND OVER
Fig Room For small groups our private Fig Room can comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests seated and up to 24 guest for a mix of seating and standing, this can be reserved for private dining, drinks receptions and more casual parties with sharing platters. Please call our reservations team on 01527 523000 between 9.30am – 5pm Monday – Friday to discuss your details.
Lavender Barn For larger groups our Lavender Barn can comfortably accommodate up to 24 guests seated and up to 40 standing, this can also be reserved for private dining, drinks receptions and parties with sharing platters/canapes, subject to availability.
The Whole House For private hire of the entire venue at Old Rectory House including; The Orangery Restaurant, Damson Lounge, Fig Room and Lavender Barn we can accommodate up-to 100 guests seated, and 150 guests throughout the venue and is available for weddings, private parties and events, please contact email@example.com For all private dining and groups of 9 or more a fixed price menu is available & pre-orders must be received a minimum of 24 hours prior to your event or 7 days for larger parties. The room hire deposit to secure your booking is non-refundable.
Guests with reduced mobility will be able to access the restaurant via our main reception by parking on the gravelled driveway. Please note that the driveway in front of the house is unsuitable for wheelchairs. We do not have an accessible toilet in the main Orangery restaurant, however there is one in our lavender barn, our staff will be happy to assist you if required. Guests in wheelchairs may find it easier to enter our ramped access via our rear courtyard opposite the Lavender Barn. OFFERS & EVENTS
FEEL GOOD FRIDAY OFFER
Spend £75 on food or drink in The Orangery and retreat in an ORH Standard Room for £25.
Fridays only, subject to availability and on advanced bookings only. Breakfast, lunch and items ordered in advance are not included.
Rate is payable on check-in. Room must be taken on the same evening as the £75 is spent. If your spend in The Orangery less than £75, the difference in cost will be added to your room rate e.g. if you spend only £50, a £25 addition will be made to your room rate, making the room rate £50. Refunds will not be given. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer including weddings and group dining. Offer is subject to availability. Supplements apply for alternative rooms and upgrades.
Credit card required at the time of booking. Orders must be received by 11am. Please arrive promptly as your order will be freshly prepared for at the time of your arrival. For guests that do not arrive a £10 charge per person will be charged to the card.
THE HAPPIEST HOURS OFFER
The Happiest Hours promotion is valid from 3pm – 7pm (week days) and 3pm – 6pm (weekends). Offer includes 2 x cocktails from a selected list (cocktails must be the same, we cannot mix and match) for £10 or 1 x 500ml carafe of red, white or rose wine for £10.
Bartenders reserve the right to refuse service to intoxicated guests and can withdraw the offer at any time.
CHRISTMAS AT THE ORANGERY – £10 VOUCHER
For diners who visit The Orangery during December 2019, a £10 voucher will be given to each guest.
Voucher can be redeemed at The Orangery during January or February 2020.
Guests must be dining and order a main. 1 voucher can be redeemed per table.
Voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Voucher can be used from Wednesday 3rd January – Saturday 29th February 2020.
Offer excludes Thursday 13th, Friday 14th and Saturday 15th February 2020.
Management reserve the right to refuse or withdraw the offer at any time.
FESTIVE LUNCH & FESTIVE DINNER RESERVATIONS IN THE ORANGERY
For Festive Lunch and Dinner bookings in The Orangery Restaurant we require a £10 per person deposit upon booking. We will require a pre-order for food at least 7 days prior to your reservation. If you cancel your reservation within 7 days or less your deposit becomes non-refundable.
